2.  SIR EDWIN ARNOLD’S ‘THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD’ by BRIAN BURNS

After the publication of his beloved classic, THE LIGHT OF ASIA, the story of the Buddha, Arnold was challenged
by Christian critics to write an equal book about the life of Jesus.  Amazingly, he accepted the dare.  But what he
came to write cannot be anything like what his critics expected. For example, the Magi, the three   Wise Men who
come to the Nativity of Christ, turn out to be three Buddhist monks who used  astrological  signs (followed  the
stars!) to be present at the birth of a  great  Bodhisattva!  And that is only the beginning.  Just wait till you hear
who Arnold proposes is the “true” father of Jesus .

9.  REINCARNATION—KARMA—AND THE PURSUIT OF LIBERATION by JANANI CLEARY

These 3 topics are all interrelated and each one of them can stand alone as a topic for presentation.  It is
essential to understand all of them in order to accomplish the ultimate goal of freedom from the hold of them,
including from liberation.  In this talk, they will be brought together and inquired into since understanding one
leads to an appreciation of the others – like when pulling the leg of a chair, the other legs come along with it.
I look forward to seeing you there!

16.   THE MYSTICAL TERMINOLOGY OF THE SUFIS by CAROLE ROSS

This will be an interpretation of Poetic Imagery concerning the physical features of the “Beloved.”

23.  THE MYTH OF “ME” REVISITED by TONY SPATARELLA

Join Tony as he discusses important themes from his first book, The Myth of "ME". This material focuses
on the shedding of false ideas and the false sense of self that brings a state of ignorance and suffering to
all who adhere to this delusion. Tony will also map out a practical path to apply the principles outlined in his
book, which will assist the practitioners toward the discovery of their true nature, and ultimate liberation.

30.  “POEMS TO LIVE BY” presented by MARKUS EDMISTON

‘It is not death that man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live.’
—Marcus Aurelius Antonius (121-180 CE), Roman emperor, philosopher.  Meditations, book 2, sct.4.

Poetry can induce a state of deep trance, taking us into and at the same time beyond our limited self.
When we connect to the song of our heart, we live truly.  Please feel free to bring a poem that you have
written or one that you find un-limits you, to this workshop.  We will discuss five poems Markus has
chosen and use one of them as a trance induction towards comfortably holding apparent contradictions.

“Wisdom is knowing I am nothing, Love is knowing I am everything, and between the two my life flows.”
—Sri Nisargatta Maharaj

21.   THE TWO SHORES OF CREATION – ONE RELATIVE THE OTHER ABSOLUTE  by MIKE SCOZZARI

The Yogis of the ancient traditions subscribe to the idea that there are 2 shores to creation - one relative,
the other absolute. The relative contains all changing phenomena as it applies to human life - mind,
intellect, ego and the senses. The absolute is eternal, non-changing, the womb of creation. If there is a path
to get to the infinite, a path to the non change, is it through the intellect, through meaning? That would be
too superficial and has proved to be unreliable. Is it through the emotions, feelings? What about
the senses, can they be turned inward to sense that refined level of thinking, feeling and action? If this can
be accomplished, if one could ’transcend’ the grip of sense perception, intellect and emotion, the
ancient seers believe one could reach that eternal field of non-change, pure consciousness.   It is possible
to turn the senses inward and minimize their activity, thereby gaining the silence that is there at the base of
all activity and sense perception.  Through meditation one becomes more and more familiar with that field
of silence. The journey is effortless.

28.  KRISHNAMURTI — DVD — ‘THE CHALLENGE OF CHANGE’

Part I will be an introduction to Krishnamurti’s discovery, his early life and his association with the
Theosophical Society in India and Britain.
Part II will be shown ON SUNDAY, JUNE. 4TH.

11.  MEDIEVAL CATHEDRALS OF ENGLAND by MARION DOLAN PhD

This talk continues the series on medieval cathedrals and will discuss the sacred buildings in England;
sites such as Westminster Abbey, the impressive Cathedrals of Salisbury, York, and Durham.  The most
important religious site in England is Canterbury Cathedral, home of the archbishop, where we will look at
some of its historic events in particular the murder of Thomas Becket which shocked all of Christendom.
We will examine the Arthurian legends of Glastonbury Cathedral and the Chalice Well. The discussion will
also cover the Knights Templar round churches in London and other parts of England and Rosslyn Chapel
in Scotland where we will explore its many secrets.

18.  LIFE AFTER DEATH by ENRIQUE RENARD

The subject of "Death" has an unpleasant connotation and plenty of fear in the Occident as a result of equivocal
religious teachings. Such feelings are absent in the Orient, where religious teachings lead us to understand that
there is nothing to fear about something that merely represents a transition from the physical sphere of the
planet to the astral, asserting that we are indeed immortal beings having a human experience. Shedding the
physical body is something we have done several times in the past, and there is nothing to fear about it. This talk
will provide information concerning what we can expect in terms of our consciousness once our physical body
has stopped functioning and we have left it.

25.  QUEST FOR GLOBAL HEALING – PART II by MARY MENA-FERNANDEZ

Quest for global healing, Conference for the 21st Century: Join Mary Mena-Fernandez  as she shares her ‘Bali’
trip and experience. Bali is one of the most peaceful and beautiful places in the world, with a rich culture and
much to share about how to heal, forgive and live harmoniously with one another and with the earth. Joined by
our Balinese hosts, we drew upon the wisdom, ceremonies and rituals of Bali along with contemporary Western
Thought and dialogue and created a "conference without walls.” The quest was to become effective global
citizens, informed about the power of social healing at the personal, community and global levels!
